To use LG Smart TV services, your TV must be connected to the internet and you must accept the required User Agreements in the TV settings.
Please Note
- Some menus and names may vary by model and region.
- If you do not accept required agreements, some Smart TV features and network-based services may not work.
- If the pointer does not appear on screen, your Magic Remote may need to be paired or re-registered.
The LG Smart TV Terms of Service screen may appear when Smart TV services are not yet authorized.
This typically happens when the TV is not connected to the internet, when required User Agreements have not been accepted, or after certain updates or resets that require agreements to be reviewed again.
1. The TV is not connected to the internet
LG Smart TV services require an active internet connection. If the network is disconnected, the TV may prompt you to review or accept agreements during setup or when launching Smart features.
2. Required User Agreements have not been accepted
If you skipped the agreement step during initial setup, or if only some items were accepted, Smart TV services may be limited until all required agreements are accepted.
3. Agreements may need to be confirmed again after changes
After a software update, factory reset, or region/account changes, the TV may request that you review and accept the latest terms and policies.
Accept the LG Smart TV User Agreements from the Privacy & Terms menu
Step 1. Open User Agreements (webOS 24 and later, including 2024–2025 models)
Setting: Settings > All Settings > Support > Privacy & Terms > User Agreements
1. Turn on the TV.
2. Press the Settings button on the remote, then open All Settings.
3. Go to Support, then select Privacy & Terms.
4. Select User Agreements.
5. Review each agreement and policy.
6. Select Select All (if available), then choose Agree.
7. If prompted, follow any on-screen steps to complete network connection or account sign-in.
Step 2. If you cannot control the on-screen pointer (Magic Remote models)
If the pointer does not appear, shake the remote left and right to display it.
If the pointer still does not appear, re-register the Magic Remote: point it at the TV and press and hold the Back and Home buttons at the same time for more than 5 seconds, then follow the on-screen instructions.
FAQ
- Q. Where can I find the User Agreements on my LG Smart TV?
- A. On webOS 24 and later models, go to Settings > All Settings > Support > Privacy & Terms > User Agreements.
- Q. Why do some Smart TV apps or features not work until I accept the agreements?
- A. Many network-based services require your consent to the applicable terms and policies. If required agreements are not accepted, the TV may restrict access to Smart features until acceptance is completed.
