You can change the on-screen menu language, the audio language used for supported digital broadcasts, and the on-screen keyboard language. Available languages vary by model and region, and only languages shown in the TV list can be selected.
Please Note
- Available languages depend on the TV model and the service region it was released for.
- If a language does not appear in the TV’s language list, it cannot be added or selected.
- Audio Language applies to digital broadcasts only and works only when the current program provides multiple audio languages.
- Voice recognition language (on supported models) follows the selected Menu Language.
Language options may be limited depending on the TV model, region, and broadcast content.
LG Smart TVs support different language sets depending on the model and the region where the product was released. In addition, the Audio Language option only changes audio when the current digital broadcast includes multiple audio tracks.
1. The desired language is not listed
Language availability is determined by the TV’s model and release region. If the language is not shown in the Language list, the TV cannot switch to that language.
2. Audio language does not change
Audio Language changes only for digital broadcasts that provide multiple audio languages. If the program has a single audio track, the TV continues using the current audio language.
3. Voice recognition language differs from expectations
On supported models, the voice recognition language is automatically set to match the Menu Language.
Change the menu, audio, and keyboard languages in LG TV settings

Setting: Settings > All Settings > General > System > Language
1) Turn on the TV.
2) Press the Settings button on the remote.

Step 2. Change the Menu Language
Setting: Settings > All Settings > General > System > Language > Menu Language

Note: The voice recognition language (on supported models) follows the Menu Language.
Step 3. Change the Audio Language for digital broadcasts
Setting: Settings > All Settings > General > System > Language > Audio Language

If the current digital broadcast does not provide multiple audio languages, the audio will remain in the existing language.
Step 4. Change the on-screen Keyboard Languages
Setting: Settings > All Settings > General > System > Language > Keyboard Languages
Select Keyboard Languages, then choose the language(s) you want to use for the on-screen keyboard.
FAQ
- Q. Why can’t I find my preferred language in the list?
- A. Language availability depends on the TV model and the region it was released for. If the language does not appear in the Language list, it cannot be selected on that TV.
- Q. Why does the Audio Language setting not change what I hear?
- A. Audio Language works only for digital broadcasts that include multiple audio tracks. If the current program provides only one audio language, the TV will continue using the existing audio.
