This video explains how to clean the drain pump filter on your LG
washing machine.
If foreign objects like coins, lint, or hair build up inside the
machine, the drain pump filter may become clogged, which may cause poor
drainage or trigger an OE (drainage) error code.
To resolve this and help keep wash performance at its best, remove any
remaining water from the machine and clean the drain pump filter
thoroughly.
How to clean the drain pump filter when the washing machine won't drain
Prepare the spanner included with your washing machine and the hole caps used to cover the bolt holes.
For your safety, turn off the washing machine and completely empty the drum.
Then, open the drain pump filter cover at the bottom left of the machine and use the drain tube to drain any remaining water into a bowl or shallow container
Once all the water has drained, carefully turn the drain pump filter anti clockwise and remove it.
Clean off any trapped debris or residue from the filter using running water and a soft brush, such as a toothbrush.
Insert the cleaned filter back into place and turn it clockwise until it is securely tightened.
Finally, securely close the drain plug on the drain tube and shut the lower front cover.
Caution
- If the filter is not tightened securely or the drain plug is not closed properly during reassembly, water may leak onto the floor during operation.
