This guide explains how to connect your LG TV to Wi‑Fi and what to check if the connection does not complete. It also includes the 2025 webOS menu paths and a remote-control shortcut that may be available on some models.
Please Note
- Do not share your Wi‑Fi password or QR code with others.
- If you use a public network, your personal data may be exposed.
- If the TV is connected through a router, keep the router firmware updated to reduce security risks.
- If you change router settings (SSID, password, security type), you must reconnect the TV to the network.
Wireless network setup issues on an LG TV can occur in these situations.
Wireless setup may fail or disconnect if the TV cannot detect the Wi‑Fi network, the password or security settings do not match, the router signal is weak, or there is wireless interference. In some cases, the issue is related to the remote control operation or a model-specific menu difference.
1. The Wi‑Fi network is not found or the signal is weak
If the router is far away, blocked by walls, or placed near interference sources (for example, a microwave oven), the TV may not detect the network or may disconnect frequently.
2. The Wi‑Fi password or security type does not match
If the router password was changed, or if the router uses an unsupported or misconfigured security mode, the TV may fail to connect even though the network name appears.
3. Model or webOS version differences affect the steps
Menu names and shortcut behavior can vary by model and webOS version. If a shortcut does not work, use the Settings menu path instead.
Connect your LG TV to Wi‑Fi using these steps.
Step 1. Connect the TV to your Wi‑Fi network from Settings
Setting: Settings > All Settings > General > Network > Wi-Fi Connection
1) Press the Settings button on the remote.
2) Open All Settings, then go to General > Network.
3) Select Wi‑Fi Connection.
4) Choose your Wi‑Fi network name (SSID).
5) Enter the Wi‑Fi password exactly as set on the router, then select Connect.
6) After connection, confirm the TV shows Connected and that apps or streaming services load normally.
Step 2. Use Quick Help to check TV status and apply recommended settings
Setting: Settings > All Settings > Support > Quick Help
Option A (remote shortcut, if supported): Press and hold the 9 button for about 2–3 seconds to open Quick Help.
Option B (menu access): Open Settings, then go to All Settings > Support > Quick Help.
In Quick Help, select the relevant item and choose CHANGE SETTINGS or START DIAGNOSIS to review recommended options and run checks based on the TV’s current status.
Step 3. If the TV still will not connect, check the router environment
1) Restart the router modem and then restart the TV.
2) Move the router closer to the TV or reduce obstacles between them.
3) If possible, test the TV on a different Wi‑Fi network (for example, a mobile hotspot) to confirm whether the issue is router-related.
4) If the router settings were recently changed (SSID password security), select the network again on the TV and re-enter the updated password.
FAQ
