A factory reset restores your LG TV to the original settings from when it was first purchased. This can help resolve issues such as Magic Remote problems, software errors, or app-related issues. A reset will remove installed apps, personal settings, and saved data.
Please Note
- A factory reset deletes installed apps, account sign-ins, and personal settings.
- Saved data (such as app data and preferences) may be erased and cannot be recovered.
- If you choose to reset network settings, you will need to reconnect to Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet after the reset.
- Do not unplug the TV or turn off power while the reset is in progress.
An LG TV factory reset may be needed in these situations.
A factory reset can help when the TV is not operating normally due to software or settings issues. It is also useful when you want to erase personal information before transferring ownership.
1. Software or app issues
You may consider a reset if apps fail to launch, the TV menu behaves unexpectedly, or software-related errors continue after basic troubleshooting.
2. Magic Remote or control problems
If the Magic Remote pointer or control response is inconsistent and re-pairing does not resolve the issue, restoring default settings may help.
3. Preparing the TV for a new user
A factory reset removes personal settings and sign-in information, which is recommended before selling, gifting, or relocating the TV to a different environment.
