Noises

Troubleshooting

Most noises coming from the dishwasher are a normal by-product of operation.

The most common causes are food passing through the system,

improper installation, or restrictions to water supply caused by buildup in the dishwasher.

Check the noise accompanied by an error code

- Troubleshoot for the appropriate error code according to owner’s manual.

Rattling

1. Check if the filter is loose or clogged.

The first 45 seconds of any cycle is an automatic drain.

It is normal to hear some humming sounds and the sound of water draining.

Check if the filter is loose:

Remove the filter and feel inside the filter housing for anything caught that may be rattling.

Clean the filter.

If the filter was loose or clogged, clean thoroughly and reassemble the filter making sure to secure it firmly.

2. Check the noise occur during the wash stage of the cycle?

Dishes may rattle during cycle under the pressure of the water or if the spray arms make contact with any items in the racks.

Make sure utensils and other dishes are not high enough for the spray arms to make contact.

Rearrange dishes or adjust the upper rack to accommodate tall or large items.

If the filter and drain hose are secured and there do not appear to be any items inside the dishwasher rattling,

perform a maintenance cycle to flush the system of any debris that may be rattling inside the sump assembly or drain hose:

Leave the dishwasher empty. Use a dishwasher cleaner or place a cup of vinegar in the bottom rack of the dishwasher.

High-Pitched or Whistling

-. Determine how long the noise occurs and when it happens (what part of the cycle). This is normal.
  Wh
en water is drawn in to the unit, a whistling noise can be heard.
   If
the water volume is too high, it will be louder. It may be necessary to adjust the tap to reduce the volume supplied to the product
   (t
urn the tap down)

Growling (Air Sucking Sound)

-. This sound occurs when too much detergent is used.

Use only automatic dishwasher detergent.

Do NOT use liquid dishwashing soap, like what is used in a sink.
Use the amount of detergent recommended in the owner's manual based on cycle selected.

The dispenser can hold 40g, but recommended amount is 1/2 - 3/4 of that amount (20g - 25oz.).
If filling up the main wash compartment, reduce the amount of detergent.
Soft water requires less detergent. If soft water is present, do not use tablets or packs which prevent the amount from being adjusted.

Reduce the amount of detergent used, when soft water is present.

Beep sound when you open the door.

-. This is not an error. When you open the door right after a steam or heated wash, rinse or dry,

a buzzing sound will alert you of any high residual temperatures inside the washer.

Noises end of cycle(during dry)

-. Noises can be heard when a cooling fan runs to ventilate steam. It is not defect and it is safe to use the product.
