LG’s new ST600 is the spit of the Apple TV, but it outguns its rival with support for 1080p video” “the suite of free and paid-for media streaming is decent, with BBC iPlayer and movie-streaming service Acetrax rubbing shoulders with Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.” “slick and easy to use” The overall verdict says that it is “very promising – with more Apps, it could be the class king

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's quick to install and works I purchased two ST600 so that I could watch love film and BBCi Player on two none internet enabled TV's. I have tried on LG 19" TV and Hatchi 32" TV. The menu slection is slower the an internet enabled TV. The USM port also worked with my two external passive Hard drives, so I was able to watch avi's/downloads.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Almost Good, but some way to go. Suspect controller pointing device. This product is going in the right direction if you want to have some Smart TV options on your non-Smart TV, but the implementation lets it down. With regards to playing video from your PC it's excellent, this is it's strongest feature and plays almost every format of video you throw at it. It is also very good in the music and photo areas. I also like the fact that you can just plug in a memory stick with content and it can easily be accessed. Being able to access BBC iPlayer is great, but what about ITV and 4OD? Youtube access is possible, but the interface is not too good and it doesn't remember any preferences, shame because it adds an important element of fun to the product. The app store is a waste of time as we have become used to Android and iPhone quality apps covering a very wide range of subjects, the LG app store just doesn't cut the mustard, with a simplistic and limited range of largely useless apps. Just a few key apps added would have given me a different view, for example, a BBC News app, an alternative browser (more about this later!), e-Mail client etc... The browser appears to be based on Opera and is simply not good enough to be useful, mainly because of it's out of date Flash player, many sites do not work and navigation is awful and slow. With regards to build quality, the box seems sturdy and functional, but not pretty. The (small) controller also is supposed to double as a pointing device, but it wouldn't work on the original unit I got, so I returned it and guess what, it doesn't work on my new unit either! Luckily LG put out an Android app called LG Remote which allows you to control the mouse pointer from your phone, so I probably won't take the unit back to replace for a third time!! This fault will probably stop me ever buying another piece of LG equipment, I think it is shameful that two units show the same fault and it has left me wishing I'd looked at other similar products (which to be honest I didn't even realise existed when I found the ST600). Overall, the box shows promise but is doesn't quite deliver what could have been a top class product, due to a few ill considered inclusions and apparent faulty hardware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use... Once this is all set up, it's easy to use to play movies, listen to music or look at pictures, all stored on your PC. It is also good for watching BBC iPlayer and several other internet based TV stations and listening to internet radio stations including the BBC channels. However, setting up the PC to be able to easily locate the movies, photos and music does take a little time - so prepare to be patient - the manual also leaves a lot to be desired !

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Potentially good The LG ST600 streamer is potentially great. Really nice user experience, pulls in coverart and other meta data from the internet. Download free Plex software to add full user experience (for ST600 and LG smart TVs). The ST600 currently doesnt do all the technical functions as listed on the LG website. There are beta firmware patches in development that will hopefully fix the bugs. MPEG2 content, MKVs are fine. But not having the modern basics of MPEG4 H264 decoding ability not activated yet, and rew/f.fwd are disabled is not good. LG seem to be on the case to improve things....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LG ST600 Smart TV thingy Does everything it says on the box, works straight from the box nothing to fancy to set up, you might find the controller hard work to use if your are used to a keyboard, i did, but have bought a Nano Keyboard with Mouse Touch pad - , So this should sort out the part that is pain for me! I don't think you will be to disappointed if you purchase one!
