If you plan to buy a 4K display as well , I would also recommend the LG 4K (31MU97) IPS display as a companion to the UltraWide display as the IPS colors are fairly close to each other. Always nice to have displays that match.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from reason why you should try before you buy OK lets start with the good bits. Its 144Mhz. It has a fast response, if your on AMD. Its screen is big enough to never need multiple monitors again. Sadly thats it for the good things. Now for the things that irritate the fek out of me. Scrolling any form of text is horrific, makes the text ghost, hard to see, not crisp. All of these at the same time, its horrendous. I have a 7 year old 1080p 60Hz monitor that flickers which is more comfortable to read web or write in office etc. How dark, well dark enough that in games you can actually not see your opponents. Had to change the settings in Nvidia to brighten up the screen just to see things. The display menus wouldnt do naff all.. Impossible to get the second monitor to extend to the left of this display. Change to another monitor and not an issue, use this and nothing will allow a second monitor to work properly to the left of this one. If you have the money, get anything else, but dont buy this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good tech I required a desktop solution at work to address the need of multitasking and use of spreadsheets on a daily basis. Historically I have used three screens but someone recommended to look into ultrawide screens and after a week's research into the topic I bought 34UC97-S screen. I am very pleased with the product, its design, quality and ease of switching between screen set ups. I use my screen with a MacBook Pro, hence why I bought the S version. I think this screen is a very good solution for any PC work where multitasking is required and would recommend it to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Monitor Ever As an aspiring computer animator and visual effects artist (whose hobbies include photography, gaming and video editing) I can confidently say that this monitor is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best investment I have made and is the perfect for all the things I've mentioned above! Using the 3D animation package Maya has never been more enjoyable and beautiful, with the size of the monitor allowing me to really make adjustments in one window and immediately see the result right next to it in another window! (Perfect example: I was texturing a Monster Can for a uni project on one side of the monitor and working on the texture in Photoshop right next to it - being able to work on the texture and see the changes I was making = perfect) Likewise, the screen real estate this monitor provides for programs like Adobe Photoshop, Premiere and After Effects = simply incredible and its usefulness cannot be underestimated. Gaming on this badboy... B.E.A.Utiful! From First-Person Shooters, to Strategy Games, to Racing... Honestly can't fault it - except quite a few games don't support 3440x1440p natively but that's really not a problem. Not to mention watching Blu-Ray's on this monitor in the 21:9 aspect ratio... Wow. LG have also included some pretty awesome software in the form of Dual Controller, which allows for two input devices side by side - I can even control my MacBook with my Windows PC mouse! There's also another program called Screen Split which allows for automatic window resizing in several pre-defined formats (i.e. 4 equally-sized windows, 1 large & 2 small, etc) TL;DR (too long;didn't read) - Look no further!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from exciting but.... is this a product you should buy? yes, if you got the money. very nice colours and uniformity. decent built quality. love the resolution, format and size. but... if you look left and right, you will notice the separation between backlight and ips. speakers are rubish (kind of to be expected from built in). backlight bleed, backlight bleed, backlight bleed, backlight bleed. everywhere and lots of it. no, you cannot notice it during the day, but i bought the monitor to be able to use it whenever i want, not only during the day! i think the only sollution is oled (hopefully in the future we ll have that option too). other thoughts? i d love to see an option without anti glare. it works well but it can t beat glossy monitors in sharpness and contrast (amateur s oppinion). g sync would be nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good This product is very good. Clear picture, awesome for watching movies and also playing games. Being IPS monitor their is hardly any frame so you get a bigger picture. I am that impressed with it I am looking at getting a 2nd one

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive monitor This is by far and large the most impressive computer monitor I've used. The colours are brilliant and the amount of screen real-estate is just something different. I can basically work with two applications and keep them both visible at the same time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stunning work monitor I have to admit, I was searching around for lots of different types of monitors because my gaming machine is also my work machine. Because I spend most of my time working, it seemed to make more sense getting a monitor more suited to work. I had previously looked at the ASUS ROG Swift, but a couple of things put me off (the size and not knowing if I would benefit from the 144hz). So after a lot of deliberation I finally setting on this monitor and boy am I glad I did. When I unwrapped it I was extremely happy with the way it looked, I had watched a video that mentioned bleeding being an issue, but when I set mine up there was little to no bleeding and having used it now for a while I can confirm that this is still the case. Gaming in this beauty is also really nice, sure there are some games that don't support the resolution but for the majority that isn't an issue. I can play the new Batman Arkham Knight in full resolution, full graphics and I only notice about a 10fps drop from my old 27" "normal" widescreen monitor. The picture quality is awesome (as expected from an IPS screen) and I love it for work. Being a programmer, having a monitor that allows comfortable screen splitting is awesome. Allowing me to code and see the results at the same time. I would highly recommend this monitor to anyone with the cash :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nothing else quite like it There is an increasing amount of ultra wide screens hitting the market most likely down to its ever-growing popularity. After doing some research I settled on this model. I liked the design, the build quality and the size. Size especially it's perfect, wouldn't go larger or smaller. Colour reproduction is excellent, the in built speakers are surprisingly good. Refresh rates are 60hz which is more than enough for the average customer. The resolution is great, my computer looks amazing and games in this ratio is far more immersive. Trust me on that one. Good range of ports on the back, slim bezel, would like it even thinner though... Curve is subtle which is nice. Screen has nice matte coating to prevent reflections which is great. There are however some downsides: There is no swivel function on the stand, it's permanently fixed. For hardcore gamers a higher refresh rate would be ideal - this is the thing.. Wait a few months and you'll get better monitors supporting this aspect ratio coming out in the not too distant future. Hopefully LG will release updated models to compete. The joystick controls are a little fiddly, would personally like a remote with this as it's designed to be a multimedia monitor with lots of incoming devices and signals.
