Can I install my new LG gas cooktop on my own?

Make sure the cooktop is properly installed and grounded by a qualified installer, according to the installation instructions. Installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency, or the gas supplier. Provide proper clearance between the range and adjacent combustible surfaces.

What is an UltraHeat™ burner?

An UltraHeat™ burner is a versatile burner that can rapidly go to high heat to quickly boil, or turn down to a true simmer.

What are the benefits of connecting my cooktop to the LG ThinQ^® app?

The LG ThinQ^® app lets you monitor your cooktop's status, view cooking settings, and receive notifications from your smartphone. It can also provide firmware updates and, when paired with a compatible LG range hood, automatically turn the vent fan on or off while cooking. Features may vary by model.

Does the LG gas cooktop work during a power outage?

While gas is used for cooking, the electronic ignition system requires electrical power to ignite the burners. In case of a power failure, you can light the gas surface burners on the cooktop with a match but should use extreme caution when lighting burners this way. Refer to your owner's manual for model-specific instructions on operating the cooktop during a power outage.

Can I remove the burner grates for cleaning?

Yes. The burner grates are removable, making it easy to clean both the grates and the cooktop surface. Grates should be cleaned regularly and, of course, after spills. You can wash them in hot, soapy water and rinse with clean water. The grates may also be cleaned in a dishwasher. Ensure all components are completely dry and properly reinstalled before using the cooktop. When replacing the grates, be sure they are positioned properly over the burners.

This cooktop leaves the factory set for use with natural gas, but can be converted to be used with propane. When converting to propane gas, the conversion must be performed by a qualified propane gas installer. The conversion instructions and propane orifices are supplied with the cooktop.
