What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inherent design problem with door latches The design causes the door latches to break off after about a year's usage. I have replaced mine three times but LG refuses to acknowledge this problem. Interestingly enough, my friend has the newer version of this fridge with French doors and the door design has been changed. Too bad for all of us who had to test the design for them. I would not purchase an LG product again because they lacked transparency with this issue.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from died after 1.5 years but easy fixed by me the mother board has an attached fuse that blew. I taped another fuse to the existing fuse and it worked. dealer wanted $500 to fix. After going to LG, (all the way to the President's office of LG) and they said they would give me a new motherboard but a certified installer would have to put it in which would cost $259. My brother in law came over and put a removable fuse assembly on the motherboard and it was fixed for under $1.00. yes, one dollar. after 5 years of use the door hinge closing lever on the inside of the RH door broke. I'm going to try and epoxy it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE I bought this fridge 5 years ago to replace a 35-year-old fridge. Almost instantly, bits of the interior started breaking off, even though we have not been particularly rough with it. Now, after only 5 years, the motherboard AND compressor have to be replaced, which essentially means it is toast. What a waste of resources. The one lesson I've come away with is not to buy another LG appliance.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrid Fridge! This thing is the most expensive piece of junk I have ever purchased! It was purchased in 2010 from Sears and within 2 years I started having problems. The ice from the ice maker tastes horrible, the plastic on the deli and crisper drawers cracked and broke, everything in the back half of the fridge freezes solid, and the two door latches broke off the door which now means the only thing holding our fridge doors closed is the seal.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Thank goodness discontinued PURCHASED this fridge in dec of 2013. Aproximately 6 months later the seal went on the fridge door. Luckily we purchased the extended 5 year warranty. The part was replaced no problem. Now a year later fridge door seal has gone again. The appliance looks nice, but make sure you do your research!!!!!!! Will never buy LG again.
