HDTV or 4K picture resolution video lag is usually exclusive to those who use game consoles. Video lag is the lack of an instantaneous response (delayed reaction) to an action (usually game controls) on the TV screen. In most cases, video gaming lag can be minimized or resolved by simple troubleshooting. Refer to the game console user information for additional information on avoiding video lag.

To reduce the image processing time, set the game console to output the same resolution as the TV. Both video and sound mode can influence the amount of video lag experienced from game consoles. Setting the TV to Game Optimizer mode can reduce the video lag.

  1. Press the settings in the remote controller

  2. Select Game Optimizer

  3. Selecting On turns on all related settings.

    • It only works with HDMI inputs.
    • If you set settings arrow_forward more_vert arrow_forward Select Mode to a mode other than Game Optimizer, some items in Game Optimizer cannot be set.
    • If you turn this feature On , you cannot change some video settings items.
    • When Game Optimizer is set to On, audio delays may occur if you set Sound Out to Bluetooth Device/WiSA Speakers/Optical Out Device/HDMI(ARC) Device . Switch to Use TV Speaker or change. settings arrow_forward more_vert arrow_forward Sound arrow_forward Advanced Settings arrow_forward Select HDMI Input Audio Format to PCM.
    • The configurable items differ depending upon model.

Game

  1. Game Genre - You can optimize the screen depending on the genre of the game.

  2. OLED Motion / OLED Motion Pro - You can make your video clearer by eliminating afterimages.

  3. Reduce Blue Light - You can adjust the blue light output to rest your eyes while watching the screen.

  4. Dark Room Mode - You can adjust the brightness of the entire screen to reduce eye strain in a dark environment or when watching for a long time to make the screen easier to watch.

  5. Prevent input delay (input lag) Minimize the input delay according to the image signal.

  6. Game Dashboard - If you set this option to On, you can use the Game Dashboard feature.

  7. AI Game Sound - Optimizes the sound for gameplay.

    • When this feature is set to On, settings arrow_forward more_vert arrow_forward Sounds arrow_forward Select Mode is changed to Game Optimizer.
    • This setting only applies to the internal speakers of the TV or HDMI (ARC) connected devices that support TV Sound Mode Share.
  8. VRR (variable refresh rate) - This reduces screen cracking and video lagging during game play.

  9. VRR & G-Sync - NVIDIA's display adaptive sync technology adjusts frames to minimize screen tearing and stuttering.

  10. AMD FreeSync Premium - AMD's display adaptive sync technology adjusts the injection rate to minimize screen breaks and stuttering.

  11. Fine Tune Dark Areas - You can calibrate the brightness of the dark areas with VRR, VRR & G-Sync or AMD FreeSync Premium set to On.

  12. Menu Color - Menu color of Game Optimizer and Game Dashboard can be changed.

  13. User Guide - Move to the User Guide app.

Picture

  1. Black Stabilizer - You can fine-tune dark areas.

  2. White Stabilizer - You can fine-tune light areas.

  3. Adjust Contrast - Adjusts the contrast of the bright and dark areas of the picture.

  4. Black Level - Adjusts the overall screen brightness. You may use the Black Level settings specifically to set the dark part of the image.

  5. Adjust Sharpness Adjusts the sharpness of the image.

  6. Color Depth - Tones down or up the colors displayed on screen.

  7. Dynamic Tone Mapping - Suitable contrast settings based on image brightness of the HDR content.

  8. Reset - You can reset customized settings back to factory default.

  9. Wide Aspect Ratio - You can set the screen ratio optimized for the game.

  10. Screen Position - You can change the position of the screen when you set it to a widescreen ratio.

  11. Advanced Picture Settings Move to the settings arrow_forward more_vert arrow_forward Picture arrow_forward Advanced Settings.

  1. Press the Smart button Remote on the remote control and select Settings > PICTURE > Picture Mode, then press WHEEL or ENTER.

  2. Set this to Game, select Close, then press WHEEL or ENTER.

  3. Select Settings >SOUND > Sound Mode, then press WHEEL or ENTER.

  4. Select the Game option, select Close, then press WHEEL or ENTER.

Note : If the video lag issue is not resolved by making these changes, proceed to Advanced Settings.


Some advanced picture and sound settings may resolve the video lag. Try changing the menu settings, then test the effect on video lag reduction.

  1. Press the Smart button Remote on the remote control and select Settings > PICTURE > Picture Option, then press WHEEL or ENTER.

  2. By turning off these menu options, video pre-processing times are reduced, therefore reducing video lag in gaming mode. Select Close when all options are Off.

    • Noise Reduction - OFF
    • MPEG Noise Reduction - OFF
    • Black Level (If available) - OFF
    • Real Cinema (If available) - OFF
    • Motion Eye Care - OFF
    • LED Local Dimming (If available) - OFF
    • TruMotion (if available) - OFF
  3. To further reduce the amount of signal processing the TV has to manage and therefore reduce video lag in gaming mode., select SOUND then press WHEEL or ENTER. Select Close when all listed options are Off or as listed below..

    • Smart Sound Mode - OFF
    • Sound Mode - Game
    • Virtual Surround Plus - OFF
    • Clear Voice - OFF
    • Volume Mode - Auto Volume - OFF

    Note : Both the sound and picture modes can be reset to normal by selecting either the Sound Reset or Picture Reset in their respective menus.
