Should the LG electric range be beeping alerting customer to some malfunction, seek error code.
If the Control Panel Display lights up error code “F-9” it means oven failed at exceeding 150ºF after 5 minutes of preheating.
Have customer press the Clear/Off button to terminate the beeping alarm.
Try to reset the unit by either unplugging the range or switching circuit breaker to “off” position.
Advise customer to leave it “as is” for 3 to 5 minutes then re-plug or switch breaker back “on”.
Either the range has been reset and will operate normally moving forward or;
…if the “F-9” error code persists, a service technician will need be dispatched.
Resetting the range once is executed in the hope of demagnetizing electronic circuitry that could have inadvertently generated this error code. However, if the error code persists, then we must conclude some mechanical or electronic defect with the unit.
Possible causes for oven not heating can either be a short-circuited element, a defective relay printed circuit board or defective relay connector. Other than dispatching an authorized service technician to repair the range, there is no other possible troubleshooting.
