F-3 Error code appearing on the range's control panel display
F3 error code on a range pertains to a button caught in an incessant shorted state. F3 indicates a short-circuit somewhere in the wire harness leading to a button. It does not necessarily imply the button itself is at fault. Either the key pad, on applicable models, or the wiring harness, is at cause. A qualified service technician will need to have a look, determine faulty part then replace or repair it.
- Should the LG electric range be beeping alerting the customer to some malfunction, seek error code.
- If the Control Panel lights up error code "F-3" it indicates an open oven sensor.
- Have customer press the Clear/Off button to terminate the beeping alarm.
- Try to reset the unit by either unplugging the range or switching circuit breaker to "off" position.
- Advise customer to leave it "as is" for 3 to 5 minutes then re-plug or switch breaker back "on".
- Either the range has been reset and will operate normally moving forward or, if the "F-3" error code persists, a service technician will need be dispatched.
