Narration
- If you’re having difficulty connecting to Wi-Fi on your LG Smart TV running webOS 6.0, the trouble can often be the network or the network setup.
- First, make sure you are connected to your personal network.
- Using the remote control click Settings, then General, then Network.
- Now check your Wi-Fi connection.
- If you are not connected select login and connect, verifying on screen.
- If there’s a password error check your password.
- The Wi-Fi password is case sensitive.
- If you are unable to connect or find the network, power off and unplug the devices, modem, router, and TV.
- Then wait at least 30 seconds.
- Plug all the devices back in, beginning with the modem and router.
- Wait for the link lights, then plug in the TV.
- Also, be mindful of things that could cause interference or issues, such as other routers on the same channel, other electronics, required firmware updates, or router settings.
- After everything is plugged in, attempt to sign in again.
- If the problem persists, go to Settings and turn off the Quick Start feature and the Simplink feature.
- Then try signing in again.
- If you are still unable to connect your TV to your Wi-Fi, to further isolate the issue you can try to connect your TV to an alternate access point.
- Your phone or tablet may have a feature built in called Mobile Hotspot.
- Turn on your mobile hotspot and attempt to connect your TV to that.
- If you can connect to your mobile hotspot, this would mean the issue is with your router, and you should contact your Internet Service Provider.
- If you are able to connect to your router, but are experiencing some issues, you may need to change your DNS settings.
- This is an advanced step.
- To do this go to Menu, then Settings, then All Settings, then Network, then Wi-Fi, then Advanced settings.
- Here you can find the DNS server settings.
- Be sure to uncheck the box so that you may set a DNS server manually.
- In the text box, change the DNS Server to “8.8.8.8”.
- This is a public DNS server that may be used for troubleshooting.
- After the DNS has been set, reboot your TV by unplugging the power for 30 seconds and then plugging the TV back in.
- You can test again when the power has been restored.
- You should now be fully connected to the Internet.
