Google TV Assistant Pop-up Message
If you have Google assistant configured on your LG TV then it's possible that you have encountered a pop-up message that seems to appear each time you power up your device. This message is a common feature by the Google Assistant and is purposely designed to showcase its seamless integration on LG TVs.
While some might find this feature to be incredibly helpful, others may view it as an unnecessary, and at times, distracting element.
Note
if the prompt to agree to the terms and conditions to use voice recognition keeps popping up, you can do the following :
- Press the Settings button on your remote
- Select All Settings
- Select General
- Select AI Service
- Select Voice Recognition
- Toggle the feature to Off
You can also turn off voice activation by pressing and holding the Microphone button on your remote for a few seconds.
Note
Some customers have been wondering about the lack of information relevant to their more mature LG Smart television.
Please be aware that the Google Assistant Voice Recognition feature was introduced in 2018 and has been made available on LG TV line-up since 2018.
If your LG Smart television model was manufactured BEFORE 2018, the Google Assistant feature was inexistent and unavailable then and nothing has changed since.

The Google Assistant pop-up message can inadvertently occur if a similarly “OK Google” phrase gets uttered on TV, for example during an advertisement or exercise program. The television’s built-in microphone might hear something to which it is prompted to react.
You will need to disable (uncheck) the Voice Information User Agreement from the Privacy & Terms menu then AGREE to the modifications you just made.
- Go to Settings then to All settings
- Head to Support Section and select Privacy and Terms
- On the Privacy and Terms section select User Agreements
- On the User Agreements disable voice information
How to disable Meet Your Google Assistant on TV Startup

Go to the settings menu on your LG TV by pressing the "Settings" button on your remote.

Scroll down and select the "Support" tab

Next, you'll have to choose the "About This TV" option, followed by the "User Agreements" option.
- Once here, keep a keen eye out for the "Assistant Launch" option, and select it to proceed

Lastly, turn this option off by pressing the "Enter" button on your remote, and then confirm the changes by selecting the "I Agree" button.

Go to "Accessibility"

Finally, select "Audio Guidance" and turn off this feature
Note
If dealing with frequent pop-up notifications of voice assistants due to the LG TV feature Audio Description then, you can disable the feature by going to General Settings > Accessibility > Audio Description. This way you can still keep your voice assistant active but not have to deal with it constantly propping up.
