Electric Range: “F-9” error code
If your oven control beeps and displays any F code error the electronic control has detected a fault condition. Turn the Oven mode knob to the Off position to clear the display and stop beeping. Reprogram oven if fault recurs, record fault number. Turn the Oven mode knob to the Off position and call for service.
Cause and Symptoms
- Code F-3 - caused by key short error
- Code F-9 - caused by oven not heating
- short-circuited element,
- defective relay printed circuit board,
- defective relay connector, and
- an electrical fault that magnetized the circuitry.
Regrettably, the only course of action is a repair service.
Try this
- Should the LG electric range be beeping alerting customer to some malfunction, seek error code display in control panel window.
- If the Control Panel Display lights up error code “F-9” it means the oven failed at exceeding 150 degrees Fahrenheit after 5 minutes of preheating.
- Press the Clear/Off button to terminate the beeping alarm.
- Try to reset the unit by either unplugging the range or tripping circuit breaker to “off” position then switching it back "on" again.
- Leave it “as is” (resting unplugged or out of power) for 3 to 5 minutes then re-plug or switch breaker back “on”.
- Either the range has been reset and will operate normally moving forward or; if the “F-9” error code persists, a service technician will need to be dispatched.
