Closed captions
Closed captions are used to display the audio portion of the program in text format.
Note
- If you are using an indoor/outdoor antenna or a wired broadcasting antenna directly connected to the
TV's antenna port, you can use the caption function. However some broadcasters may not provide caption services, in which case the function may not be
available.
- If you're using a Cable/Satellite receiver box when watching your TV programs the caption function is not supported. You need to configure the caption option in your Cable/Satellite receiver box to enable the function.
Note
TV Closed Captions and Texts are services provided by broadcasters to be displayed on screen as part of accessibility to all. The television itself is incapable of producing closed captions on its own.

As multiculturalism develops and expands in Metropolitan areas, the need for additional captioned languages is available to broadcasters. CC1 is generally the transcript in the original language content material was produced or in most of the cases English. Language choice for the other options, either CC2, CC3 or CC4, are left to local broadcaster or Network’s choice. The same applies for Text options.
Select a caption mode for displaying captioning information if provided for a program.
- Analog captions display information at any position on the screen.
- Text displays information, usually at the bottom position and is used for a data service.
- Caption/Text, as provided by the broadcaster, should be available for both digital and analog channels via the Antenna/Cable connection.
- Televisions are programmed to remember the caption/text mode they were last set to, when you turn the power off then back on again.
