Freezing application
If you encounter an app freezing on screen or error while running the app, it may indicate a network connection issue. Poor or unstable internet connectivity can cause apps to freeze. Ensure your TV is connected to a stable internet connection, and consider using a wired Ethernet connection if possible.
First, examine the cable connection between the TV and the Internet router. If the problem persists, check the network connection status by stage in the TV settings menu.
Try connecting to another network (e.g., tethering/hotspot) and check for any errors.
Cause and Symptoms
- Poor or unstable internet connectivity can cause apps to freeze. Ensure your TV is connected to a stable internet connection, and consider using a wired Ethernet connection if possible.
- Some applications may accumulate cache and data over time, which can lead to performance issues. In your TV's settings, look for the option to clear cache and data for specific apps.

Have you checked the network status by stage?
➔ Check if there is any [X] mark between stage icons on the Network Connection Status
screen.
Checking the network status by stage
- The icons on the screen correspond to [TV], [Gateway], [DNS], and [Internet] (from left to right).
If all stages have no issues, all the icons are connected via a green line.
- If there is an [X] mark between [TV] and [Gateway], then check the cable connection between your TV and router.
If there are no issues, restart the cable modem and then router in the specified order, and initialize them.
After the initialization, turn off your TV, turn it back on, and connect it to the network again.
- If there is no problem with your [TV], but you see an [X] mark between [Gateway] and [DNS] or [Internet],
unplug your router and then cable modem, wait for 10 seconds or more, and then plug them again.
Press the [Reset] button on your router and cable modem to initialize them.
If the problem persists, contact your Internet service provider.
Have you cleared the cache and data?
➔ Cache files consume storage space and cause screen freezing, glitches, and other issues. To avoid this issue, clear any corrupted or accumulated obsolete cache on your LG TV. Also, if the screen freezes while using certain apps, such as Netflix, then, in order to continue watching, you must clear the Netflix cache on your LG Smart TV.
