Cannot install Android apps on TV - Tip on developing Apps for LG webOS TV
You can install applications on your LG Smart TV by accessing Apps tab (LG Content Store) on the launcher bar.
If you cannot find an app you wish to install from the LG Content Store, please change TV service country and network settings and try again. Alternatively, if you want to run your homebrewed apps or develop applications for the WebOS TV then you can use your television to test your app before submitting it to the LG content store.
Note
LG Smart televisions run an exclusive web-based operating system (proprietary technology). Since LG webOS operating system is unique, customers cannot install and run Android native apps from Google Play Store or any other 3rd party application developers on their LG Smart TV. Publishing your app to the LG content store
Once you complete development of your app, the next step is to submit the app to get approval for sale on the store. The purpose of this approval process is basically to secure the quality of apps to be sold and installed on customers' webOS TV devices.
The app approval process involves the following three stages.
Submission
You submit your app to LG Seller Lounge. There are some information you need to submit with your app, including documents like a UX scenario and self checklist.
Testing
LG performs QA testing of your app. If the app fails the test, it will be rejected and sent back to you with the listed issues that need to be fixed. After fixing the issues, you should re-submit the modified app again for testing.
Approval
If your app finally passes the test, the app is launched on LG Content Store for sale to customers.
