Bathroom throw rugs [washer]
The thought of cleaning items not usually intended for a residential washing machine risks having some adverse and damaging effects on the item itself or the washing machine.
LG washing machines offer a vast selection of cycles to accommodate just about any type of household laundry needs. That being said, there is bound to be some oddball items not being addressed.
For example, a few customers have been asking about which cycle to use best to clean their bathroom throw rugs and mats.
Cause & Symptoms
Some bathroom rugs feature a sturdy backing such as rubber. If the soaked-up item is incredibly heavy to lift, inside the washer it will strain the motor to the point of damaging it beyond repair.
Best to verify and carefully check the rug’s label for any manufacturer instructions on cleaning it.
Try this
As a general rule of thumb, machine washable rugs are either made of cotton, synthetic fiber or microfiber. Whereas rug materials such as wool, silk and jute should never be tossed in any washing machine.
Machine washable throw rugs are best handled in a Delicate cycle using cold water, HE detergent and avoid using any bleach additive.
