Locating Phone's Model Number
Customers who are new to smartphone usage and especially seeking service for the phone are always asked to provide the model number and the serial number (factory issued), and, to some extent, the IMEI number which is globally issued.
IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity, and it's a 15-digit number that uniquely identifies a mobile device. IMEI numbers are stored in the Equipment Identity Register (EIR), which contains information about all valid mobile phones.
Customers inquiring about OS software/firmware upgrade status, regrettably, none will ever be forthcoming. Please consult very last Press Release from LG Electronics’ Mobile Communication Business Division.
