Humming sound when in defrost mode

Cause and Symptoms

Is humming sound heard during defrost?

Try this

During defrosting, the microwave oven will circulate the air throughout the cavity by running the fan. The Magnetron will turn “on” and run for a short moment, then shut itself “off” while the fan continues to circulate the air around the food. This allows for proper defrosting while avoiding overcooking the food.

Note

Depending on Power Level set, the magnetron may stay "on" the entire time.
Should it be the case, Stop unit from operating, unplug it, wait a few seconds, plug it back in to reboot it and try again.
