Refrigerator shelves bending
Do refrigerator shelves bend when food is stored?
Note
To avoid shelves from bending, refrain from storing excessively HEAVY single containers on any shelf. Try separating the content in smaller containers if possible. More smaller containers spread across the shelf, despite sharing the same total weight as one single container, should not result in shelves bending.
Cause and Symptoms
As the width of refrigerator shelf is wide, it is possible for a shelf to bend on account of the food being stored on said shelf and more specifically combined weight of stored food. This is a natural phenomenon as per the laws of physics.
Try this
The heavier the food, the greater are the chances for the shelf to bend. It is recommended to have an appropriate amount of food stored on the shelf in order to maintain proper use of the appliance for a long time without failure.
NOTE
To avoid shelves from bending, refrain from storing excessively HEAVY single containers on any shelf. Try separating the content in smaller containers if possible. More smaller containers spread across the shelf, despite sharing the same total weight as one single container, should not result in shelves bending.
Try to put heavier items from 5kg to 10kg on the bottom shelf, and lighter items from 1kg to 5kg on the middle shelf, and very light items from 0.5kg to 1kg on the top shelf.
