Leaking from Dispenser
If you are noticing a stream of water coming from the dispenser area, it may simply need to be cleaned. It is an important part of maintenance for the dispenser to be cleaned regularly.
According to another customer
If water is leaking from dispenser It’s because there’s no other way out when siphoning. Something like a detergent bottle paper lining within the plastic cap might have fallen in the dispenser blocking it.
Try this
- Pull the dispenser drawer towards you until it stops.
- Press down on the depressed tab between the softener and bleach inserts.
- While pressing down on the tab mentioned above, pull the drawer toward you. The detergent tray will completely remove from the front of the washer.
With the drawer removed, each component piece can be removed.
- Clean each piece with warm, soapy water in a kitchen sink. DO NOT clean these pieces in an automatic dishwasher.
- Clean inside the detergent tray compartment, particularly near the front of the tray. Over time, additives can buildup inside this area causing the tray to leak.
- Once each piece is clean, reassemble the dispenser pieces and reinsert the dispenser tray. Run a few wash cycles to confirm that the leaking has stopped.
Note
It is important that the detergent tray be cleaned periodically to ensure your additives dispense correctly. A good time to clean the dispenser would be when performing other routine maintenance on your washer.
Note
The detergent dispenser drawer could have been inadvertently and unintentionally broken or cracked and, in such conditions, will leak when water is running through it to pull in the detergent mixing it into the wash cycle water. Remove the drawer and inspect it very carefully for any possible split in the plastic. If it is cracked, replace it. Leaks can happen while the machine is filling or during the wash cycle.
