Clearing Cache [television]
Clearing the cache on your LG TV can improve your viewing experience by removing temporary data that apps use to improve performance. Over time, this cache can cause slow loading times or freezing.
Note
>- Unlike Smart Phones whereas users can clear cache on most any individual application installed on their phone, LG Smart Televisions, regrettably, do not feature such privilege. Clearing Cache on an LG Smart TV can only be executed from the Web Browser application for the entire cache in memory.
- Upon opening the TV Web Browser you will be greeted by the following pop up messages. These pop ups are normal and only serve to offer you a better experience when browsing. The first is intended for software engineers overseas to improve TV web browsing while the second is meant to block pop-up ads.
- Only newer model of LG Smart TV has a Clear Cache feature on their Web Browser Settings.
- There are some netcast model or old model of LG Smart TV that are not supported by Clear Cache option.
Check the model of your LG Smart TV and if noticed that it doesn't have Clear Cache option in Web Browser Settings means that it is unsupported.
Steps to Clear Browsing Data Using the LG TV Web Browser

- Open the Web Browser from your Home screen
- Click the menu button on the top right corner and select Settings
- Scroll all the way down to the bottom and locate the Clear Browsing Data option
- Choose Clear Cookies, Clear All Browsing Data buttons or both then Exit web browser.
Streaming application services are best viewed on an LG Smart TV when the app is made available from the LG Content Store as the bulk of the required memory to run the app is handled by the service provider’s servers and not the television. Should there be a streaming service you wished added to your LG television, we invite you to consult with your LG subsidiary by clicking this directory list and contact LG to request your Digital Team explore a partnership with the service provider.
Thank you for your understanding.
