Right after the warranty expired we had a bad storm with lightning and the electricity went out which afterwards the tv screen was blacked out but it still had sound. I then went to Best Buy to find out what I could do about repairing it. I was told that it would cost me more money to fix it than if I just bought a new one. I did end up buying a new one but this has left me a bit angry that it didn’t last longer, and even though I had it plugged into a surge protector it failed only lasted right past the warranty plus I don’t understand how they knew that it could not be repaired by telling them what happened.But the salesman was understanding and he at least gave me a extra good deal on my new Ultra HD TV which I am very pleased with. I have had problems with the intermittent power on and off of TV Model 42LD450. I have issues something on the sound cause it wobbles when it is loud. Overall it is fine. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Backlight issue Not even 2 years into ownership and the backlight issue has surfaced like so many others that bought this product. Fixing the issue is a hassle and I can tell you, I will not buy LG again. I will stick to Sony or Samsung. I had a much lesser brand last 4 times longer with nearly as good quality picture. It's a 32 inch...picture quality differences are not impactful on the purchase. 50+ inch TVs I can see much more noticeable gaps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great for almost 4 years then lost picture. I love my 39" LG - TV Flat Screen Smart TV. Everything good for over 3 years. Lost the picture today. I used it a lot...many,many hours, still sad today when picture went out. It did everything I could have expected for the price. I didn't buy an extended warranty either, which would have expired too by now. I got a lot of use for the dollar. Good color and features. I love the LG built in internet channels too. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still Going Strong! I bought this brand new in 2014. It’s still going strong. Video games look great on it and I’ve used the built in Netflix on it exclusively since I’ve bought it. LG has put out many updates since I originally bought it. I would definitely buy another LG product! Very happy with the purchase and can see myself using this Tv for a long time to come. Also, lots of inputs in the back. No I wasn’t paid for this review. I really am happy with this TV.
