Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless I regret buying this TV with virtually low sound. I cannot connect any other sound system/speakers or sound bar. What a waste.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great picture I meant to include in my last review comments about the picture and value. I'm no expert on video but I was nervous buying this TV because I was replacing my broken plasma LG 42" with this 49". At the time I bought the plasma circa 2008, it was by far better than the LCD TV's. 30000:1 contrast vs 10000:1 for LCD. You could see the difference in the row of TV's easily. When I first saw the image on this TV, I was blown away. Colours more saturated and high contrast no problem. I don't know how this TV is rated by the experts but I immediately noticed the difference.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No Audio out I know there is another review on this but had to vent my frustration. I did not even think to look before buying that it would not at least have RCA outputs. I have never ever seen a TV without some kind of audio out for connecting to a aux sound system. Most now even have optical output. I decided to keep the TV since it was a good price compared to other brands. We watch cable mostly and the cable box has an audio output but my blue ray player doesn't. So we are forced to watch blue-ray with TV speakers only. If all your components have audio outputs and your surround receiver has enough inputs, you can just switch between audio sources but I noticed that more and more components only use HDMI in/out. There is such a thing as a HDMI audio extractor/decoder/converter with HDMI throughput for about $30 so you can just put it in-line with your HDMI cable and split off RCA or digital sound to your audio receiver/surround.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We'd definitely buy another LG TV . The sound, picture and features are superb. Our only issue has been controlling the brightness level for movies. Sometimes the picture is a bit darker than we'd like.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from sound quality very poor I bought this tv as I have had 2 lg tvs in the past and had great service from them, this tv is a totally different animal it is the worst tv that I have bought in my life, sound quality is diabolical the speakers rasp, it does not matter how you set up the audio system it still rasps. no worry I thought I will put it on with my lg sound bar, there is no optical output????? you cannot connect to any sound bar to this tv, do not waste your money this tv is a lemon, be warned
