Does the appliance need to be vented outside?

Yes. This dryer on this model requires external venting via a 4" diameter metal duct. The maximum length of the dryer vent ducting should not exceed 65 ft. To reduce the risk of fire, combustion, or accumulation of combustible gases, DO NOT exhaust dryer air into an enclosed and unventilated area, such as an attic, wall, ceiling, crawl space, chimney, gas vent, or concealed space of a building.
