On a cold morning we love nothing more than shakshuka, eggs poached in a delicious spicy tomato sauce.

Step 1
Lay 1 Lebanese bread on the ‘crisp tray’ on the high rack. Use the GRILL COOKING FEATURE (see notes) to toast the lebanese bread for 8 minutes or until golden and crispy. Set aside. Repeat with remaining Lebanese bread.

Step 2
Place the oil, onion, capsicum, garlic and thick broccolini stems in a 2 litre (8 cup) microwave-safe dish. Cover and microwave on 100, stirring halfway, for 4-5 minutes or until vegetables are soft.

Step 3
Add cumin, coriander and chilli flakes to the vegetable mixture. Cover and microwave for a further 1 minute or until aromatic and onion has softened. Add tomato and remaining broccolini. Cover and microwave for 5 minutes or until heated through. Season well.

Step 4
Spoon hot tomato mixture into four 750ml (3 cup) shallow microwave-safe bowls. Make a shallow indent in center of the mixture. Crack 1 egg into tomato mixture of 1 bowl. Use a sharp knife to prick egg white several times and the yolk once (this prevents the egg bursting). Cover bowl loosely with paper towel (to avoid spills). Microwave on 100 for 2 1/2 - 3 minutes for soft yolks or until egg is cooked to your liking. Repeat with remaining tomato mixture and eggs.

Step 5
Sprinkled with coriander and chilli flakes. Crack crisp Lebanese breads to serve.

Cheat’s Italian pasta bake

Long winter nights are always made easier with a comforting pasta bake. This recipe uses two types of cheese, so it is twice as tasty.

Step 1
Place pasta in a large, deep 3L (12-cup) capacity microwave-safe bowl. Add boiling water and season with salt. Cover with plastic wrap and pierce a few holes in the plastic. Place dish in the microwave. Use the INVERTER COOK POPULAR MENU instructions (see notes). Choose the weight of the pasta,in this case 0.2kg, and press start (this will take about 25 minutes). Once cooked, drain off any excess water. Keep warm.

Step 2
Place oil, onion, bacon and garlic in a 2 litre (8-cup) microwave-safe dish. Cover and microwave on P-HI, stirring halfway, for 5 minutes or until softened. Stir in red wine and passata. Cover and microwave on P-HI for 4 minutes. Season well.

Step 3
Add the basil, spinach, passata mixture and baby bocconcini to the pasta. Microwave on P-HI for 4-5 minutes or until heated through.

Step 4
Sprinkle with cheese. Place dish on high rack in microwave. Use the GRILL COOK MENU instructions to grill pasta for 5-8 minutes or until cheese has melted. Serve.

I happened to see this advertised and the design and features of this CMW appealed to me. The pull down door makes it easy as our MW is below the bench. I do find the menu panel hard to read as the lighting is dim (the internal light is brilliant) and you do need to know the codes. The panel should at least be replicated in the book. I was disappointed in the recipe book, that could be better. There are no recipes on the website specifically for this oven either. It would be easier to learn the features if you had a decent set of recipes to follow.

It does everything from baking and steaming to defrost and microwaving. The accessories are excellent, low rack, bigh rack, crisper tray, steaming tray and lid. It hasn’t 10 power settings for microwave and works on convection mode like a real oven heating top and bottom evenly. It’s large, 39L. I looked at ovens $300 value up to over $1000 and this was the best one with the most features and I am super happy.

I've never had to use more than a power setting and timer before but this microwave is so feature rich I'm forever using the manual to recall how to do things like inverter or air fry. If you're not going to use the extra features though, find a cheaper purchase. Love the design too.

I especially love all the combination functions and sensor cook as trully all food done perfectly and super fast with no fuss... Everything comes out so juicy / moist and tender. Highly recommend it

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute Rubbish I have had similar experience to previous reviewer Mr Bear. After 6 months the microwave started turning itself off and making a terrible noise. I was told to take it to the service centre which was 27km from where I live and that repairs would take 7-10 days depending on the technicians workload. Upon completion of the repairs I picked up the microwave and used it a few times only to have it start turning itself off again so it went back into the service centre for another 7-10 days. Again, after having it at home for a few days it started making the terrible noise again so back it went 8 days ago which is where it still is. I had taken a video of the microwave making the noise and sent that to the technician who forwarded it on to LG. LG one of their technicians to look at it and they have now ordered more parts for it so I am waiting for those parts to come in and it to be repaired AGAIN! Over the last 2 months it has been at the service centre more than it has been at my home. I have rang LG themselves and was told I just had to wait, and wait, an then wait some more. By the time I pick it up when the repairs have been completed this time I will have made 6 trips from one side of Adelaide to the other, each trip taking about an hour, so 6 hours and quite a few dollars worth of fuel wasted! NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY AN LG PRODUCT!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features. I bought the oven a month ago and am very happy with my purchase. You receive a browning dish, steaming dish with lid and two wire racks. It cooks virtually anything. It is easy to use and looks fabulous on the kitchen bench. I would recommend the oven.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrendous customer service - read before buying I have been buying LG products for years and have generally been very happy. But I always say, the real value of a product or service is highlighted in how the company deals with a situation when a problem occurs. I read a lot of reviews before buying this NeoChef Convection Microwave and decided it was worth paying a premium price for it. After 5 months of usage, the Microwave turns off and on sporadically (around 15 times a day) and sometimes whilst it is running, automatically adds 30-60 seconds to the timer and you cannot cancel it - you need to switch it off at the power outlet. Things go wrong so that's fine. I called up LG and was told I need to take it to my nearest service centre which is a 30m drive away to be assessed. For a premium product (and a heavy one at that), someone should really come out to assess it but again, I was prepared to put up with this. But then I was told I would be without the Microwave for at least 2 days during the assessment and possibly more depending on what is wrong. I have kids and am heavily dependent on our Microwave (not to mention we get all our meals via a meal delivery sevice and it is frozen). When I asked if I will get something temporary to use, I was told no. So basically I would have to go out and buy another Microwave whilst this one gets looked at and this is the part I am absolutely NOT ok with. Despite my repeated requests to the offshore contact center to escalate the job and find me a solution (we have chatted 5 times over the past month), I was continuously denied and told the same thing - to take it to the service center. They would not let me speak to a manager even though I asked numerous times and they would not find me any alternate solution - all they needed to do is provide me with a basic temporary microwave from the repair center and I would have been ok. A premium product should not come with this kind of service and I will no longer buy LG products (as I sit here looking at my LG monitor, TV and fridge - also have an LG washing machine). I am so extremely angry and disappointed in a company I have supported for so long. So now I am off to buy another microwave and will be seeking a refund on this expensive paperweight. Customer service is everything. A product can be brilliant but if it breaks after 5 months and you get no support after years of loyalty, then what is the point? Don’t do it – get another brand microwave.
