What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW! What a picture! AMAZING! The picture is so realistic. Its like you are right there, looking through a crystal clear window. The colors are so brilliant, they "pop" off the screen. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic picture A fantastic picture even when upscaling 1080p shows. Playing 4K movies makes it seem like the action is going to jump off the screen. Just wish there was more broadcast of sports in 4K (NFL). A friend and myself wall mounted ourselves no problem. Just wish there was an easy INFO button to display what the TV thinks the video stream is coming in at. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent picture but manual? Excellent picture with true 4k and blackest of blacks. However, detailed and understandable owner’s manual missing. Internet version inadequate. With the myriad features on the 77 inch set, manual needed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Picture I was upgrading my old TV and researched YouTube and found L.G. OLED 77” TV. The picture quality is over the moon and setup was a snap. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best TV experience ever. Unbelievable picture in cinema and vivid modes. The AI features are amazing. The picture quality and plethora of viewing selections make it hard to turn this TV off.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Auto-dimming function needs to be fixed I felt very fortunate to be able to purchase this set back in August after reading the many glowing reviews about the picture quality. While the picture is indeed excellent it has unfortunately been overshadowed by a major issue with the internal Auto Brightness Limiting (ABL) function. While watching a wide range of HDR content across multiple sources/components, the brightness level of certain scenes/shots will noticeably fade in and out based on the brightness content relative to the previous outgoing scene/shot. It is especially noticeable during brighter outdoor daytime scenes/shots. This is apparently a function built into all OLED sets to protect the screen and prolong the life of the TV but it seems like LG got the algorithm wrong for the C8 line and there is a very noticeable half second lag when it kicks in. Some viewers may not notice or care about this issue but I have a feeling that at this price point many potential buyers are as critical about their viewing experience as I am and will not be happy with the prospect of constantly seeing this. I find it distracting to the point that it takes me out of any programming I'm watching and focuses my attention back on the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exquisite picture We purchased the first 4K that was available five years ago and saw a significantly better picture However our new LG OLED is a substantial leap over that tech that we will enjoy for me for years to come [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent TV I cannot compare to competitive products, as I do not have them and would not trust observations made in an uncontrolled glaring fluorescent store. But as a replacement for a 10 year old high-end projector, it is great. It's a smaller image, but great picture. The blacks are just - wow. Great image from any angle. I feed my HDMI sources direct into the TV and audio out via HDMI ARC to a receiver which works fine. Sometimes I think there may be some A/V sync issues with that method but nothing that has been bothersome. The audio seems ok from the TV itself, but obviously much better from a separate quality 5.1 channel system. I still use the TV's remote on occasion but I've been able to get my universal remote programmed to control the TV. So, clearly deserves the accolades it has gotten. A top-notch TV for sure. Relatively thin and light for it's size and an amazing picture. Even upconverting SD or HD content to 4k seems to work very well. And the "tru-motion" can be turned off which is my preference. a little bonus - a type of screensaver - the "gallery" gives a good looking picture in frame and the very thin bezel makes it look like a piece of art on the wall. A couple of "extras" seem not to be perfect for me - but they are not important and there are easy work-arounds. HDMI CeC is way too slow with my Nexus Player (that normally responds to a Bluetooth remote) but that's probably the device. Haven't tried it on other devices, and it can be turned off so that's fine. There could be better software - Netflix occasionally loses signal (could be my internet connection but doubtful - i'm wired gigabit and running over 300Mbps and have not experienced that on other streaming devices although they are not 4k hdr). Also, the ability to play video files on my NAS is there but limited. But WebOS is just a bonus feature and of course an external streaming box can be used. And it typically works fine for both Netflix and Amazon. (I don't use others very much) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
